Support - TaskBuddy: Eisenhower Matrix

Organize, prioritize, and conquer your day using the proven Eisenhower Matrix — the 4-quadrant time management framework trusted by high performers.

Getting Started

1. Launch TaskBuddy on your device
2. Complete the interactive onboarding to learn about:
   • The 4-quadrant Eisenhower Matrix
   • How to classify tasks by importance and urgency
   • Workspaces and tags for organization
3. Add your first task by tapping the “+” button in any quadrant
4. Optional: Create Workspaces in Settings to organize tasks by project or context
5. Optional: Subscribe to Pro for unlimited workspaces and subtasks

Understanding the 4 Quadrants

• Q1 — Important & Urgent: Crises, critical deadlines, fires that need immediate action. Aim to minimize this quadrant.
• Q2 — Important & Not Urgent: Strategic planning, skill growth, health, and long-term goals. This is your success quadrant — spend most of your time here.
• Q3 — Not Important & Urgent: Interruptions, non-critical meetings, and busy work. Delegate or eliminate these when possible.
• Q4 — Not Important & Not Urgent: Distractions, mindless scrolling, and time wasters. Be mindful of time spent here.

Features

Task Management

• Add, edit, and complete tasks across all four quadrants
• Task statuses: To Do → In Progress → Done (or Delegated)
• Color-coded status indicators for at-a-glance progress
• Pin tasks to highlight top priorities
• Carry-over: Incomplete tasks automatically roll over to the next day

Subtasks

• Break complex tasks into smaller steps with parent-child task relationships
• View subtask progress inline with the parent task
• Pro feature: Requires an active TaskBuddy Pro subscription

Workspaces & Tags

• Create Workspaces (tags) to group tasks by project, area, or context
• Filter the matrix view by workspace to stay focused
• Free tier: Limited workspaces; Pro: Unlimited workspaces

Calendar & History

• Browse tasks across past and future dates using the calendar view
• Review completed tasks for any historical day
• Track your daily planning patterns over time

Analytics & Visualization

• Visual charts showing task distribution across quadrants
• Completion percentages and trend tracking
• Understand where you’re spending your time

Widgets

• Home screen widgets to view today’s priority tasks at a glance
• Configure widgets by quadrant and workspace
• Refreshes every 5 minutes for up-to-date content

Multi-Platform Support

• iOS: Full-featured app for iPhone and iPad
• macOS: Dedicated Mac app for desktop task management
• Seamless CloudKit sync across all your Apple devices

Common Issues

Tasks Not Carrying Over to Today

• Open the app on the new day to trigger carry-over
• Check that carry-over is enabled in Settings
• Ensure iCloud sync is active if using multiple devices

Sync Not Working Across Devices

• Ensure you’re signed in to the same iCloud account on all devices
• Check Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive is enabled
• Open the app on each device to trigger a sync
• Allow a few minutes for CloudKit to propagate changes

Widgets Not Showing Tasks

• Open the main app to refresh widget data
• Remove and re-add the widget if the issue persists
• Check that your selected workspace has tasks for today

Subtasks Not Available

• Subtasks require an active TaskBuddy Pro subscription
• Tap the Pro card in Settings to learn more and subscribe

Can’t Create More Workspaces

• The free tier includes a limited number of workspaces
• Upgrade to Pro for unlimited workspaces
• Manage existing workspaces from the tag/workspace menu

App Showing Paywall Unexpectedly

• TaskBuddy shows a brief Pro introduction every few launches
• Tap “Not Now” to dismiss and continue using the app for free
• Subscribe to Pro to remove these prompts entirely

Language Support

TaskBuddy supports multiple languages. Change language via Settings → Language Selector.

Subscription & Pro Features

TaskBuddy offers a Pro subscription via RevenueCat:

• Unlimited Workspaces
• Subtasks (hierarchical task breakdown)
• Support ongoing development
• Manage or cancel anytime through App Store → Subscriptions

System Requirements

• iOS 16.0 or later for iPhone and iPad
• macOS 14.1 or later
• Internet connection for CloudKit sync and Pro subscription
• iCloud account for cross-device sync

Privacy & Security

• Task data synced via iCloud (CloudKit) with end-to-end encryption
• Local Core Data storage on your devices
• RevenueCat handles all subscription management
• Aptabase collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the app
• No personal task content is ever collected or shared

Tips & Best Practices

• Q2 is your power zone: Schedule time each day for important-but-not-urgent tasks before fires take over
• Keep Q1 small: A large Q1 means reactive living — plan ahead to prevent crises
• Delegate Q3: Not everything urgent deserves your personal attention
• Review daily: Spend a moment each morning placing new tasks in the right quadrant
• Use Workspaces: Separate work, personal, and side projects with dedicated workspaces
• Pin wisely: Use task pinning to highlight the 1-3 things that matter most today
